Is not the same as your dental office. Root planing done by a periodontal hygienist takes more time and skill. This comes from years of experience working and training with a periodontist. If you have uncontrolled gum disease (ie: pockets) then you need specialist hygiene care. We also follow up with laser diode treatment when needed.
Used since the 1960ʼs, they provide a foundation for replacement teeth function and feel like your original teeth. If you have experienced tooth loss, dental implants allow you to experience food, to speak naturally and looks as if youʼve never lost your teeth. Your teeth will be secure and appear natural.
“Teeth in an Hour” or “Express Teeth” is an exceptional option for those people who have lost their teeth to walk out of the office with fully functional, implant supported fixed bridges.
The time saving aspect of fabricating your teeth prior to the procedure allows you to eat a steak or salad that night! The procedure is done a minimally invasive manner, resulting in very little or no post operative pain, swelling or bruising. Low level laser therapy provides additional healing & comfort.
Video: What Are Dental Implants?:
Historically when teeth were extracted or loss due to injury, trauma or disease, the shrinking structure of the jaw bone resulted in simply inadequate room for an implant.
Fortunately today we can add & grow bone when needed. This allows us to prevent bone loss at the time of extraction, or add more bone where needed. Sinus bone can also be added in the upper jaw regions.
Bone grafting is also done in a minimally invasive manner and thus complications are minimized with higher then optimal standards to be safe, effective & successful. The grafted bone is eventually turned over and metabolized to eventually be the foundation of a future dental implant.
Before & After bone grafting – implants are now possible instead of dentures:
87% of adults have some sort of gum disease. Once you are diagnosed, you will always have it, the only treatment is control of the disease – there is no cure!
Periodontal disease is a chronic gum and bone inflammation/ infection much like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis or crohnʼs disease. Bleeding gums, bad breath, loose teeth, or receding gums are all advanced cases of gum disease. While most people only experience food impaction on occasion.
Treatment has two options:
- Removal of the superficial bacteria in plaque & tartar via scaling & root planning.
- Laser Treatment removes bacteria from the inner gum lining andstimulates REPAIR, regeneration and healing, while traditional flap surgery could never do this and horrible side effects are left.

When smiling, if you are noticing a lot of “gums” and short teeth, this may not be the reality. Teeth may appear short while under the gums they are an appropriate longer size. This longer size may be exposed by periodontal plastic procedure called Esthetic Crown Lengthening.

When a tooth breaks but is still viable, or if a crown/bridge needs to be replaced, then creating extra room of length for a more retentive crown is a good idea. Often crown lengthening is needs when a cavity also extends below the gum line.
Another cosmetic procedure where recessed teeth can be covered again by your own gum or donor gum to achieve natural esthetics. Gum grafts cover your recessed teeth, thicken the weaker tissues and teeth that are friable, and protect roots from future tooth decay.
